“This manuscript has become much easier to understand, thanks to you. I am grateful for your careful correction. Thank you always for your kind support.”

— N. Ushine, Researcher, Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University, Tokyo, Japan

“Promptly responsive, thoughtful, analytical, very good listener, good at seeing both the writer’s and the reader’s points of view, pleasant to work with.”

— A. Shanan DVM, CHPV (Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian), Lead Editor, Hospice and Palliative Care for Companion Animals, Wiley and Sons, 2017

“Deb's understanding of scientific subject matter and excellent communication skills have supported our organization more than once in turning an important but unclear manuscript into a readable text that clearly conveys the author's intent.”

— K. Williams, Executive Director, The International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council

“Two things set Deb apart from other editors, in my experience. First, as a veterinarian Deb understands medical terminology and context, so she brings a practitioner’s eye to the technical language in the manuscript. Equally important, Deb has a wonderful sensitivity for language that respects non-human animals. She brings both of these valuable perspectives to the work she does for the Journal of Wildlife Rehabilitation.”

— K. Lindsey, Journal of Wildlife Rehabilitation Managing Editor

On this testimonial page it seems fitting for me to offer a tribute to the Virginia opossum, one of my favorite animals. They are cute, and females are devoted moms. They are nonconfrontational, won’t attack you, and almost never carry rabies. One opossum can eat up to 5,000 ticks per season. They are resilient and have existed in the same body form since the time of the dinosaurs! All of my experiences with them have been positive.
